I have been with Melissa for 20 years. I wouldn’t go to anyone else for my Highlights and Haircuts. One day I was complaining about my scalp and how it's dry and itchy. After a close up view of my scalp she recommended a scalp treatment. I ran to the appointment … it helped so much with just one treatment. She explained to me the benefits of the scalp shampoo and conditioner and I’m so glad I started with her recommendation … I use it 2x a month and love it …makes my hair squeaky clean…
I love that Melissa’s space is very quiet, calming, no phones ringing, no loud laughing or loud talking, just a very relaxing place to get your hair done. Melissa listens and does what you want, not what she wants, which I think that's fantastic.

The biggest change I've noticed in my hair color is how long it lasts and how it doesn't look faded by the end of the month. The tones are just perfect for my style. Melissa knows what to do when I want my hair to be darker or lighter.

I was surprised how Melissa’s salon is such a personal experience. Because she has her own dedicated space, she totally focuses on me as she works on my hair. I love how she doesn’t have others she’s working on at the same time or the distractions that happen in a shared space. Her space is so beautiful and relaxing. It’s like having a wonderful spa experience.
My grey is definitely a “salt and pepper” mess…bright white in the front, some very dark patches in the back. It’s not easy hair to highlight! Melissa has done a beautiful job of blending my grey hair so that there’s not a growth line showing while I’m in between visits. She really is a color genius. I love the beautiful soft blonde color she chose for me. Since I have to grow old, she’s letting me do it in-style with hair I love! I am thankful to be working with Melissa!

Melissa is a joy to be around, and you can't help but feel calm and safe while in her environment. Your time in her chair is a "no rush" service and is your time with no interruptions from other clients, no unwanted background conversations, noises or phones ringing. Melissa also provides extra amenities to make your experience in her chair more enjoyable. Her shampoos are the best and have not been able to find anyone to say different or can do better. In her chair, I have fallen asleep getting my eyebrows and upper lip waxed!! Who else but Melissa can do that, to make you that comfortable!!
My main concerns are with my gray coverage and hair loss. Within the last 6 months, maybe longer, she has suggested some products to use geared to my type of loss. So far I have been very impressed with the results. Her scalp analysis showed that I am getting new hair growth, I call them "my baby hairs" and seeing some follicles with multiple strands growing. I can feel the stubbles when I rub my hand on my scalp. It's truly amazing. I haven't had to do a zig zag part, tease my hair or add color powder to my hair for several months. I am on the short side of height so anyone above me could see my "bald crown" and often tease me about it and say, hey, I think you're overdue for your hair appointment. Now they say, nothing or wow, it's working.

I was looking for a new stylist because I needed some new ideas on my hair coloring and cut. My hair is very difficult and has gotten more wavy as I’ve grown older. Melissa has some great ideas for some changes in the cut that made a big difference in how my hair framed my face. I was also looking to do something different than full head hair color. Melissa‘s use of gray blending is amazing and after one hair highlighting session, I was hooked!
What surprises me most about Melissa‘s salon is that it is a “one stop shop“. I love going there and relaxing while Melissa does my hair. She is not fitting me in between other clients and my services are the priority. It is a lovely experience and easy and comfortable conversation with Melissa. In the years that I have been seeing Melissa, I have never had an appointment canceled or changed. Her timing is always perfect and I have never waited or had her be late for my appointment.

The thing about Melissa that is most surprising is the one-on-one attention you receive at each and every visit. Because Melissa has her own studio space, she is able to dedicate individualized time to listen to and pamper me at every single visit. Even though I have been coming to Melissa for years, we still spend a good portion of the visit in a consultation. Melissa takes time to look at pictures I bring, asks questions to better understand what I'm looking for, and educates me. Melissa is such a good listener, and I can tell it's important to her that she really hears what I am saying. Also, since I'm the only client at my appointment time, Melissa is able to pamper me by offering drinks or snacks, giving me an amazing head massage during my shampoo, letting me rest with a heated towel, etc. It really does feel like so much more than a hair appointment!
The biggest change I've noticed in my hair color is that Melissa has helped me understand the different ways to blend my gray hairs so I can go longer between visits and my outgrowth looks much more natural. Also, Melissa is teaching me how to care for my scalp to improve my hair volume and overall health of my hair.
